Adopting from us

We would ask you to please read the following information before applying to adopt any of our cats.

Only send the application below in respect of any cats that are currently shown on this website as available for adoption.

Our adoption requirements:

We cannot offer adoption if:

- your home is very near a busy road or railway line.

- you have children under 5 living with you.

- you reside in a flat above ground floor.

Any potential adopters must:

- agree to a home-check (which, at our discretion, can take place via video call).

- have a cat flap already in place, with access to a back garden (alternatively, a 'catio')

- provide evidence of being able to keep a cat at their home if they are renting (eg, a rental agreement). Please ensure permission and evidence is obtained before applying.

- agree to return any adopted cat to our care, if they are unable to keep the cat for whatever reason.

Adoption donation

We ask for a minimum adoption donation fee, which helps us to cover only a portion of what we have already spent out for the cat/kitten's care (including vets fees, food, litter, etc).  It never covers all that we spend on any particular cat or kitten, but it goes some way to assist us with continuing to help any cats in need.

All the cats will be:

- health-checked by a vet

- vaccinated.

- microchipped

- neutered

- treated for fleas and worms

We also provide four weeks of free PetPlan insurance (available to cats under 10 years of age).  There is absolutely no obligation to continue with PetPlan once the free four weeks is up.

Every cat will be rehomed with something they have enjoyed using while with us at the Rescue (eg, a blanket and or toy), to bring them some comfort when faced with a new home and unfamiliar smells.

Minimum adoption donation fee:

- Cat = £100

- Kitten (up to 1 year of age) = £120

Adoption process

This adoption process is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of the cats in our care and that of our staff.

We will:

- review all completed application forms received, and only contact you if there is a good match (please note that if we call you, it will be from a private telephone number).    We are unable to spend time chasing for missing information, so please ensure your form is completed fully and accurately.

- arrange a day/time to carry out a home-check (which may be carried out via video call - preferably using Whatsapp, which is a free service).

- arrange a day/time for a live video call so you can 'meet' your chosen cat, if the home check goes well.

We are not open to the public for viewings (because the cats are in a foster home situation).  A live video call allows you to see the cat/s in a relaxed state with their carers.

- ask for any adoption donation fee to be paid (via online bank transfer), and an Adoption Agreement to be signed (via email) before the date of any agreed adoption.

- arrange a day/time when we will bring your cat/s to you.

Before your cat's adoption day, we will provide you with full information, including:

favourite foods, preferred cat litter and bedding, upcoming dates for flea and worm treatment, and when their next vaccinations are due.

We spend time with each cat in our care, so we can advise potential adopters of their temperament, and their likes and dislikes.

.

If you are in agreement with the above-mentioned process, then please complete the application form below in respect of the cat/s you wish to adopt.
